Update on Group's Charity Challenge - Squares!

Thank you to all group members who have been knitting & crocheting 7"x 9" squares for the Group Charity Challenge! To date we have made 47 squares total, which includes 30 of the squares above that were used to make this afghan!

We still have a little bit of time left before the deadline of May 1st for this project. So, for any group member who has some squares ready to turn in or in process, keep on stitchin'. The remainder of the squares we have left will also be donated to WARM UP AKRON!

Knitters Fantasy 2008

It's Hip to be Square

The group has been busily working on a Charity Challenge to create 7"x9" afghan squares. Our group member participants cast their votes on where they would like to see the group's squares donated.

Our charity donation winner is Warm Up! Akron ,which is a local group that creates and assembles blankets and afghans for local charities.

So far and counting our group has completed 36 squares!! Thank you to all of our group member participants! Keep those squares coming!! Our deadline for this charity challenge is on May 1st.

We would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Warm Up! Akron for their upcoming 8th Anniversary on Tuesday, April 8th!

Inspiration

Tonight our Knit & Hook group attended the grand opening of the 34th Annual Needlework show at the Stow Munroe Falls Public Library. Such inspiring works of art ranging from quilts, cross stitch, crewel, sewing, knitting and crochet.

The show runs from now until Sunday. Our pictures do not do the craftsmanship justice. So much talent in one room. It is a must see in person! Be sure to vote for your favorites!

Swappin' Fun

Thank you to our group members who participated in a successful yarn swap and mug rug & coaster swap! Everyone had a great time creating the mug rugs and coasters as seen in the pictures above.

A Yarn Shop Hop & Crawl #2 to Miss Chickpeas Funky Fibers in Hudson on Tuesday, April 1st.

A visit to the Stow-Munroe Falls Public Library for the 34th Annual Needlework Show on Wednesday, April 2nd. Admission is Free.
