2012 Year of the Baby "and" Project Linus

Thank you so much to all of our group members who contributed to 2011 The Year of Winter Wear for local school-aged kids. We truly appreciate all your efforts all year long for this endeavor. If you still have hats, scarves, mittens and/or gloves still on the hooks and needles, please still continue on to finish them. We will be very happy to take them off your hands.

At this time, we are excited to announce that 2012 will be The Year of the Baby "and" Project Linus. I know over the years we have contributed baby items along as we stitched, yet this coming year it will be our focus and we'll also broaden our horizons on blankets for Project Linus as well.

We have a lot to look forward to in the New Year and hope to bring many fun-filled activities along the way.

We're kicking off 2012 with Team Sugar 'n Spice (girls) versus Team Snip Snails and Puppy Dog Tails (boys) as we compete in teams to make newborn and preemie items for each gender to see which team makes the most. Knitting, crocheting and/or sewing hats, mitts, booties and/or socks will commence on January 1, 2012 and end at our meetup on Monday, March 5th. If you have not yet signed up for the contest, please do so on our meetup page so we can assign you a team by the luck of the draw method. Then, you will have time before January 1st to gather your patterns, yarn, materials and tools to be ready when January 1st hits! Deadline for signups is December 31st by 12noon. Good luck to both teams!

Thank you as always for your continued support and friendship to our group!

Happy Holidays Everyone!
